I love a simple grilled cheese. I have warm memories of my dad making them on the griddle for my brother and me on Saturday afternoons. Inspired by some Kroger coupons, I decided to make the ultimate grilled cheese. Here is my recipe! I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 slice of Gouda cheese

  • 2 slices of bread

  • 1 teaspoon mayo

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 11/2 tablespoon of butter

  • Olive Oil cooking spray

Directions

  1. Prepare two slices of bread. I prefer to buy a La Brea loaf at my local Kroger and slice it myself. I recommend either a sourdough loaf or a three-cheese loaf.

  2. Spread mayo and Dijon mustard on each slice. Place one slice of Gouda on one bread slice and one slice of sharp cheddar on the other. Press the slices together so the Gouda and cheddar touch in the center.

  3. Melt the butter in the microwave or in a skillet, and spread it on the outside of the sandwich (make sure to put butter on both sides).

  4. Spray the bottom of the air fryer. Put the sandwich inside the air fryer. Set the temperature to 390 degrees and the timer for 4 minutes. After those 4 minutes, flip the sandwich and cook for 4 more minutes.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
